Job Summary:

We are looking for a dynamic and strategic Category Manager to lead the baby care retail operations within hospital premises. This role focuses on managing the Himalaya BabyCare product category in a unique shop-in-hospital format, ensuring optimal product assortment, inventory, and customer experience tailored to new parents and hospital visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

Category Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and execute category strategies specific to hospital retail environments.
  • Understand the needs of new parents and hospital clientele to curate relevant product assortments.
  • Plan seasonal and lifecycle-based product offerings (e.g., newborn essentials, maternity care).

Retail Operations & Merchandising

  • Oversee visual merchandising and planogram execution.
  • Ensure consistent brand representation and hygiene standards across all outlets.
  • Coordinate with hospital administration for space utilization and compliance.

Inventory & Supply Chain Management

  • Forecast demand based on hospital footfall.
  • Manage stock levels to avoid overstocking or stockouts.
  • Liaise with logistics and warehouse teams for timely replenishment.

Sales & Performance Monitoring

  • Track category performance using POS data and customer feedback.
  • Analyze sales trends and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Prepare regular reports on category KPIs and suggest actionable insights.

Customer Experience & Engagement

  • Collaborate with marketing to design in-hospital promotions and sampling activities.
  • Coordinate with training team to and train store staff on product knowledge and customer service.
  • Ensure a warm and supportive shopping experience for new parents.

Hospital & Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with Himalaya BabyCare’s brand and supply teams.
  • Negotiate with hospital management for exclusive tie ups and activations.
  • Maintain strong relationships with hospital partners and internal stakeholders.

 

Qualifications:

  • MBA from a reputed institute.
  • 3–6 years of experience in category management, preferably in FMCG or healthcare retail.
  • Strong understanding of baby care products and consumer behavior.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Experience with retail analytics tools.
